Meet Aaron and Andrea.
These two decided that it wasn't enough to be finishing medical school and starting their residency, both simultaneously, while raising a daughter. They thought they'd add planning a wedding to their long list of to-dos. Lucky for us, we were chosen as their photographers. We'll forever remember how we connected, because they "found out about us in the bathroom" of our favorite local establishment, Turtle Mountain Brewing Company (Amy leaves the cards pinned to a bulletin board in there; we don't just introduce ourselves, how rude). It was clearly meant to be. A few weeks after we met to discuss their wedding plans over coffee, we scheduled time to take their engagement photos. As if to fit with their winter wedding plans, it snowed sideways during their engagement session like Forrest Gump on ice.
On Aaron and Andrea's wedding day, we arrived at their venue, the Truchas Peak Place in beautiful Truchas, New Mexico. We've photographed many beautiful southwestern weddings, but this was our first in Truchas. They had rented out the entire property so their family and friends could stay onsite. When we arrived, we were greeted with open arms. It was a stunning location, snowy and serene. And their ceremony site? A book-filled library! Aaron and Andrea had agreed to have a hidden first look so they could have a few special moments together before the ceremony yet still preserve the tradition of not seeing each other prior. The library was the perfect place to do this.
The snowy backdrop was just what we needed for their bride and groom photos. Andrea's fur stole and birdcage veil were the perfect accessories for a vintage-style bride.
Of course we had to take some fun photos in the library. Having the books on hand came in handy. I mean, what better prop to use in celebration of the union of two physicians than a copy of Gray's Anatomy?
A huge congrats to Dr. and Dr. Stecker!! We are honored to have been part of your day. And since we share the same taste in local brews, we'll have to meet up again soon!
